I am a firm advocate of the financial planning process and believe in working closely with my clients to ensure they reach their financial goals. I follow a sound investment strategy believing strongly in asset allocation and diversification employed with patience and discipline.

I work with affluent investors who want a Financial Professional who can guide them in the multi-dimensional aspects of their personal, business and, family finances. This includes retirement planning, education planning, investments, estate planning, and charitable giving. Finding a balance between the protection, growth, and distribution of wealth.

My mission is simple—to help you pursue your unique financial goals.

Background/Interests:
After beginning his career in a national brokerage firm followed by several years in a relationship with a local banking institution, it became very clear that the independent model was the most effective way to truly meet the needs of his clients. In order to develop and sustain a practice that will run effectively for all parties for the long haul, he opened Thompson Financial Group in 2004.

Giles was the founding member of Lawrence's first BNI (Business Networking International) Chapter. He attends the Douglas County Estate Planning Council and is a member of Rotary International, Lawrence Central Group. He is also a member of the Social Investment Forum.

Giles completed the Financial Planning Certificate Program at the Henry W. Bloch School of Business and Public Administration at the University of Missouri. He is a graduate of Trinity College Dublin (University of Dublin), Ireland receiving a First Class Honors degree in Engineering and an Honorary degree in Mathematics. He also holds a Masters degree from Trinity College Dublin.

Giles lives in Old West Lawrence with his wife Marianne. He has 2 children, Ingrid & Oisin. In his spare time he coaches his son's soccer team & plays the sport himself on a regular basis. He enjoys traveling and reading when time permits.
